Mary Beth Warner
Mary Beth Warner is a writer and producer whose scripts have been recognized by numerous writing contests and awards, including The Athena Film Festival Writers Lab (2022), the Women in Film and Video (WIFV) Short Narrative Screenplay contest (2023), The Writers Lab (2023), the Brooklyn International Short Awards (2024), Evolution! Mallorca Film Festival (2024) and the American Zoetrope Screenplay Competition (2025). Her narrative shorts, feature films, and limited series all focus on protagonists who have been sidelined in society for factors outside of their control. She hopes her work will create a conversation that will lead to greater understanding among people of different backgrounds. Her first career was as a journalist, and she wrote and edited stories about politics on the municipal, national, and international levels for publications including The Philadelphia Inquirer, National Journal, Time Magazine, and Der Spiegel. She lived in Berlin for six years and taught beginning German at The George Washington University. She and her husband live in their empty nest in Washington, DC.
